Co-Founder & Volunteer Executive Director

Sherri Clement began helping victims of human trafficking in 2011 in Ventura County and Los Angeles, California. When she relocated to Texas in 2013, she had a vision for using horses to help victims heal from their trauma.  She has more than 25 years of experience with horses and is a certified equine assisted psychotherapy and learning program developer and direct care specialist.

Sherri has over 22 years in Marketing Communications and Business Administration with a Bachelor of Science in Digital Media Design and Marketing. Her expertise in running a successful business in CA provided her the tools necessary to found a nonprofit in 2012, Hope Rising.

Sherri put everything she had into the difficult work of providing care to victims of human trafficking, while building a nonprofit that was making a difference in the lives of many.

Sherri personally worked with over 120 victims of human trafficking. She grew Hope Rising from inception to a sustainable, successful nonprofit. Now, she brings her passion and expertise to Chayah to provide services to trauma victims from all walks of life with special focus on Veterans and their families.
